History of Confederate House

The Confederate House has a proud history in Savannah.  In the 1950s, the Confederate House was used as a museum for the United Daughters of the Confederacy which was co-founded by Anna Davenport in the 1890s. The Davenport House Museum is now located in the original Davenport House and the Confederate House is an elegant bed and breakfast.

Now 160 years old, The Confederate House has been restored to its original beauty after restoration work began in 1994. The Confederate House has been in the family for over two decades, and the family is so pleased to continue to share this rare historic gem with visitors of Savannah.
